On March 27, 2026 Farmington High School held its annual Lip Dub. This is something that the FHS seniors, students, and faculty look forward to every year. This year’s Lip Dub was themed as songs that have been popular in the last four years. Even though the Lip Dub is simply just an enjoyable event that students love to be involved in, it’s a full production. Several weeks of preparation go into the Lip Dub and all it’s seemingly “easy” video.
To get more information, Savanna Walker, one of BKTV senior students shared some of the behind the scenes about this year’s Lip Dub.
“Some of the most challenging things were definitely the song timing because some songs are faster than others and it’s hard to time,” Walker said.
“I’m most proud of the credits. Me and Mady Washington both made the credits to gather and they turned out great because you have to be proud of the things you make.” said Walker.
Walker explained things that students merely participating or watching the Lip Dub wouldn’t see.
“Most students I’ve talked to thought that the themes for the zones made no sense but they don’t necessarily know how hard it is to come up with a song, theme, and a dressup theme that works. Some of what I believe to be unexpecting for students, if they are not in BKTV, was how much dedication goes into every practice and how the camera man has to learn how to walk backwards,” said Armoneit.
“Well, the most significant thing about this year’s theme is how it was meant to bring the school together even though it was mainly seniors we were focusing on because it’s mainly for them and their last year.” Walker said.
Marli Armoneit is a junior and was another student that helped during this year’s Lip Dub.
“The most challenging thing about this year’s lip dub was definitely trying to upload my footage and trying not to trip on confetti or people,” said Armoneit
“I am the most proud of my behind the scenes video on youtube and when I recorded the 2026 senior chant,” said Armoneit.
“Something unexpected that students wouldn’t know if after the lip dub is filmed we sit for about 2-3 hours editing and we also spend weeks preparing and getting items ready for the big day,” said Armoneit
“One significant thing about this year’s theme was by far the teacher lip dub and Mrs.Kelli and Mrs.Harris having songs to themselves,” said Armoneit
This year’s Lip Dub was uploaded on Youtube March 27, 2026 and is available to watch.
