The Lip Dub is approaching rapidly! The Lip Dub is a Lip Syncing video students and teachers take a part in at Farmington High School. The lip dub allows a half day in the school year to allow students to have a good time and relax.
Black Knight Television (BKTV) is a program that teaches students about journalism and the countless other job opportunities in that field. It's a class where students carry out media content to keep the community informed about news on what's going on at our school or in our community.
BKTV has been doing the lip dub since 2019, and began as a senior only event and grew to be school wide! It resumes year after year with excitement and participation.
“I love to see students from all groups and ages come together. There are no "cliques" when it comes to the lip dub. Everyone can just be themselves and have a blast. When you see the final product we seem so united and I love that. I also love to see the staff loosen up and have some fun with it.” LaMonds states.
The Lip Dub began as a great opportunity to gather the school to work together as a project. The first lip dub was done right before the schools had shut down due to Covid 19. Since then, it's been a good way to honor the senior class. It's a tradition that students and teachers look forward to, and it also gives BKTV 3 and 4 the chance to work together on a school-wide project.
“I think the best part of doing the Lip Dub is watching how much fun the seniors have,” said Loughary. “Next year's Lip Dub will be really special because my Seminar will be seniors. I can't wait to see what they do, plus it's Dr LaMonds's last year, so we have to do something really special for her.”
The 2026 lip dub will take place on March 27th, For more information regarding the Lip Dub, Email Mr Loughary.
