Ted Bundy 2019 Movie

A 1980’s criminal already has movies named after him… but this one might be the most recognized.
Theodore Robert Bundy (1946-1989) was an American serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, and Burglar who was convicted of sexual assault and murdering young women. Growing up, he attained a strained relationship with his parents and his shyness made him a target of bullying. Despite having a successful college career and great relationships, he sexually assaulted and murdered young women during that time. Although Bundy confessed to 30 murders, including 2 college students, it was convinced by others that he was responsible for hundreds of other murders. After enough evidence was found, Bundy was fatally sentenced to death using ‘The Electric Chair’ in 1989.
Bundy’s crimes have been an international story for years, and over 5 movies have been made about him from different perspectives. In 2019, Netflix released ‘Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes’, a four-part documentary that describes Bundy’s life and features never-before-heard audio interviews with Bundy himself. Netflix released a warning on Twitter, reminding people to NOT watch these files alone. People had taken a huge notice to the tapes, and some decided to romanticize Bundy himself. Because of this backlash, Netflix had posted on Twitter “I’ve seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy’s alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service – almost all of whom are not convicted, serial murderers.
After the episodes were released, another movie about Ted Bundy was announced, casting Zac Efron as Bundy. “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile” was released January 26, 2019, and has been met with positive reviews from critics, and many fans of Efron. The movie has a focus on Bundy’s crimes, from the perspective of his long-time girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins. “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile” was greeted with positive reviews, before and after it’s release. Most people have focused on Efron, intrigued by his performance as Bundy, a huge reason for this to possibly be the most recognized Ted Bundy movie.
