Sofia Rattini, a beloved senior at Farmington High School, has always been an active and friendly member of her school community, making friends with both her peers and younger students. As she prepares to graduate, she has valuable insights and experiences to share with her classmates as a future FHS alumni.
One of Rattini’s proudest achievements was being crowned the 2024 homecoming queen. She also takes pride in participating in the national convention for FFA. Recently, they went to Indianapolis and met many people who share their passion for FFA.
Rattini is excited to receive her Associate of Arts degree from Mineral Area College this May after countless hours of hard work and dedication on top of her high school commitments.
“It hasn’t happened yet, but being able to get my degree in May is a big achievement,” Rattini commends herself.
Rattini, despite graduating with many achievements, regrets not getting involved in any clubs, sports, or activities at FHS sooner.
“Definitely get more involved because, by not doing so sooner, all you’ll do is regret it,” Rattini advised incoming students.
Rattini’s friend and peer, senior Jack Williams, adds to her shining resume by complimenting how humble she is about her accomplishments and her kindness to everyone around her.
“Some of my favorite things about Sofia are her humor, her work ethic in and out of school, how well she treats others, and how humble she is,” said Jack. “Naturally, one would be boastful with all the awards and positions she holds, but not Sofia. She is very humble.”
Rattini has a great sense of humor and is always kind to others.
“Sofia is very funny and is always laughing with classmates, but one thing that differentiates Sofia from others is that she would never laugh at someone,” Williams stated.
Rattini believes that during her four years in high school, she has become more open and has undergone positive personal changes.
“I have become a lot more social. I feel like my personality has completely turned around. I am more on the optimistic side rather than pessimistic; I used to struggle with that a lot. I’m more open to new relationships,” Rattini reveals. “I am not scared to talk in front of people, I talk to pretty much everyone because I just love people. That is probably the biggest change, I actually genuinely love people, and I used to not, and now I just really adore people.”
FFA instructor Tracy Stroud describes Rattini as a wonderful student who is a warm and kind person to anyone she interacts with.
“Sofia is a great student. She is caring and loyal. She works hard to always do her best and to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.” Stroud stated.
Stroud also commented on how Rattini developed as a person throughout her four years at FHS and the FFA program.
“Sofia has definitely come out of her shell since her freshman year. She is willing to try new things,” Stroud explained. “She has also become very active within our FFA chapter, influencing it for the better.”
Sofia Rattini will leave FHS as a better and stronger woman who has and will impact the lives of everyone she meets. Rattini hopes to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia and improve the education of students as an instructor for the FFA program.
